The global religious landscape is changing. Interfaith marriages are on the rise, and even small communities are becoming increasingly diverse. Now, more than ever, it is essential that we build bridges across traditional religious divides. But we need to begin immediately, and we need to begin with our children. According to a recent Dept. of Justice report, “…effectively combating religious discrimination in educational settings will require all students to develop a deeper understanding about, and respect for, different religions and religious practices.”
We must begin creating the future we envision. Waiting until this generation of kids grows into our next generation of poorly educated adults is not acceptable. Many people think the topic of religion is too serious for kids, but we’re here to assure you that kids enjoy learning about the world around them – maybe even more than adults! It’s true that faith is an abstract concept, but there are many aspects of faith that are quite tangible, like the places where people worship, the ritual objects that are used, the ceremonies that are conducted, and the foods that are eaten.
At Faith Seeker Kids, we have more than a decade of experience in teaching kids, age 3 through 8th grade, about these aspects of the world’s faith traditions. We are now ready to share what we’ve learned with the world. Please join us!
