Vicki was raised in Kankakee, IL, where she attended a Lutheran church (ELCA), a Lutheran grade school (Missouri Synod), and a Catholic High School. She earned her undergraduate psychology degree from Brown University and her Ph.D. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then served as Psychology Professor at Warren Wilson College from 1997-2008, where she taught a variety of courses related to human development, biopsychology and learning/cognition.
